During the 1970s and 80s, local folk-rocker John Denver recorded several world televised concerts at Red Rocks. Red Rocks has been a popular venue for live recordings. The first documented performance at the venue was the Grand Opening of the Garden of the Titans, put on by famed editor John Brisben Walker on May 31, 1906.
